These 2 retreats were inspired by my own teen experience and a need to fill the gap between what is learned in school/at home and what’s needed to maneuver relationships, daily stressors, and life challenges. The retreats fill this gap with self awareness and tangible tools.

Every. Single. Day. girls are faced with the challenge of fitting in and meeting “expectations.”

They are bombarded by messages of what values take priority and how they should look, act and feel.

Many of the most accomplished girls are disconnected from the truest parts of themselves and unable to differentiate between who they really are and who they ought to be.

The purpose of the retreats is to give teens an early opportunity for self awareness and the ability to use and act on this knowledge. Creating an internal foundation thats built on the knowledge of their unique strengths, internal motivativators and sabatuers, natural leadership style and values.

The retreat focuses around:

  • Their strengths, communication and style of leadershipTheir strengths, communication and style of leadership
  • Values that power their choices
  • Triggers of stress
  • Effects of limiting beliefs on their personal growth
  • Their unique (hidden) talents
  • Understanding their impact

Participants will then attend a 3day/2night scheduled retreat held at all inclusive retreat sites, based on group location. The retreat gives the opportunity to unplug, connect, and support each other in taking risks, stepping out of their comfort zone, and discovering what their made of. Besides having a BLAST, participants will share their stories, put their new self awareness into action and be able to define and express what it really means to #Byourselfie.

IinTeam

Physical and mental skills are only half of what’s needed to be a well rounded, competitive athlete…on and off the court.  Athletes need to have a self awareness of their unique strengths, communication style and internal motivation, not just to be the best individual player they can be but also to know how best to compliment the unique traits of the team.

The goal of this retreat is to empower the athlete and the team with an internal foundation and knowledge to take their “game” to the next level.

Participants will then attend a 3day/2night scheduled retreat held at all inclusive retreat sites, based on group location. The retreat gives the opportunity to unplug, connect as a team, and support each other in taking risks, stepping out of their comfort zone, and discovering what their made of. Besides having a BLAST, participants will share their stories, and put their new self awareness into ACTION.

The impact of an athletes self awareness in action and how it effects both the individual and team as a whole makes all the difference in improving on-field and off-field performance.

Participants will learn:

My Teen Story

Growing up as the middle child, in a middle class, normal dysfunctional family, I was fairly outgoing, loved hanging out with my friends and thought of myself as a mediocre athlete. Although it was hard to fade into the background at 5’11’’ tall, I was more content with not being noticed. I thought my body resembled a bean pole with a head on it, and wore baggy clothes to hide the fact that I would have preferred to be shorter with some curves. School was stressful because the decent grades I did get I worked my ass off for. Nothing really seemed to come easy. I looked around at my classmates, friends and siblings and I felt I fell short in some way. I was the queen of people pleasing!

The majority of the choices and decisions I made were based on what my parents, friends and boyfriend wanted (or what I thought they wanted.) It was a very stressful, confusing, lonely time in my life.

And as much as I knew how much my parents loved and supported me, I didn’t feel understood or noticed. They were dealing with their own stuff. I went into college with the same limiting beliefs along with the added stress of being on my own, gaining 40 pounds, studying for a full load of courses, alcohol use, boyfriend drama, bouts of depression and trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life!

I think back on these years and it’s because of those challenges that I am deeply passionate about providing girls with a compass during their greatest time in need of support. To offer them sound guidance, tools and strategies NOW that will prevent bad habits and limiting beliefs to take root that will greatly effect their future.
